This week two guys I work with had a electrical surge at a RV park. It fried there converter, microwave,TV, and we dont know what else yet. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on surge protectors and how I can protect it from theft. I have cruiser 305 sk and Im not sure how I can hard wire it in on the inside. Or leave it outside and protect it.
I have to tell you this subject has come up a lot on the forum in the past few months. CW sells both that can be hard wired in the unit and some that can be plugged in. I have a power master much like a autoformer. It is a bit more $$$ than just a surge guard or protector but will help regulate voltage. I think this should be one of the first things to buy for the trailer and Tire pressure monitoring system next. You can search surge (protector and guards) and get lots of info.

I had a 30 amp Surge Guard portable model with our Cruiser. A new one will cost $250 "on sale" at Camping World. Just bought a new 50 amp Surge Guard, $350, for our new MH. We also have the Surge Guard locking hasp, about $15 at CW. You will need to supply your own padlock but it will keep the SG secure.
