Thank you for manufacturing such a well made device as the toilet in my PP.

You see, this morning I was using the black tank flush kit as supplied by Crossroads when I was called away to do something "important" elsewhere and I forgot to turn the water off.

When I came back 45 minutes or so later, I found water cascading over the side of the roof on the left side of the trailer. Oy Veh!!!

I had purposely parked it with a little leftward lean so that rain water, etc., would run to that side and keep the entrance side relatively dry but little did I know how useful this lean would be.

Fearing the worst, I entered the trailer expecting to see (and smell) nasty blue colored water all over the place. Instead, I was treated to a dry floor and no evidence of a problem.

That's when I figured out the the valve in the toilet must have worked as well for water coming up as it does for water going down! Yep. That valve stopped the water from coming out the toilet and forced it up the vent pipe and from there to the roof!

Again, Thank You Thetford!

You lead a charmed life, Jeb. Glad the inside was high and dry.

I bet if that vent pipe didnt have a cap on it the thing would have looked like old faithful!! LOL

Thats a good thing though glad it didnt do any damage inside that would have been a blue mess that would have been very hard to clean up for sure!

well Jeb, I beat you to that by 6 weeks. I installed the hose to the black tank flusher and did not realize that the water shut off valve was leaking and the same thing happened, although I did have about a quart of water on the toilet floor.

However, my neighbor, who has an Open Range TT did as you did and water went up the vent pipe and into the TT bathroom ceiling because open range did not have a seal on the roof.

Open Range refuses to do anything citing my neighbors "stupidity" in walking away from the black tank flusher,

So, I also am leading a "charmed" life

My dad did the same thing with their motor home ( can I mention "motor home" on a trailer site?). Goes to show men CAN'T multi-task, goes with A.D.D. we're born with

But I was multitasking when this took place. I was cleaning out both the black tank and the vent pipe at the same time!

A woman, on the other hand, would not have been able to think of an answer such as I just gave while also typing on the keyboard.
