Frank,
What size are the stock ST tires? If they are ST235/80R15, then the 75 profile LT tires will have the same width, but be smaller in height. If you are towing nose high, the 75 profile tires will make this worse. The other serious issue is load capacity, the LT tires are only rated for 2335 lbs at 65 psi, or 4670 lbs on a 5200 lb axle. While the LT tires are probably better quality with a higher safety margin than the ST tires, you would be illegal using these tires.

Frank, Maxxis makes a ST 225/75R15 LR E (M8008). They are 10 ply with a max load of 2830lbs @80PSI. I know cuz they are on my rig. Be carefull tho cuz there is also an 8 ply with the same number. Been a good tire for me but they are a bit pricey.

Frank, I switched out the tires on our rig this spring. Went from
ST225/75R15D -------- Goodyear Marathon to
LT225/75R16E------ also Goodyear
Some complain Goodyear's are all made in China. I don't agree with that. Mine are all stamped on the sidewall-----Made in USA

Go to a Load Range E ST tire. That's what I did and I don't regret it. Theyrun much cooler than the LR-D's that were on our 5vr.

Frank,
If you can find LT tires in an E range, like Lloyd stated, that is what I would do. I wouldn't be happy with any ST tire in hotter climates. I had the 'best', Maxxis load range E on my '04 Cruiser, they lasted 3 yrs. While they didn't pop, they did suffer tread separation.

I have found a link to Rv tires which include the rim. Seems like good prices to me. Ideal for those wanting to switch to a larger size tire. http://www.easternmarine.com/ Check it out.
