I live in Halifax Nova Scotia. Our winters are a mixture of many freeze thaw cycles, with, at times lots of snow of the wet and heavy type to light and fluffy, which periodically switches to rain. All this to say - yes we have a crappy winter. I have been unable to find inside storage, so we will store outside in our driveway. I was looking at the Adco Tyvec 5th Wheel cover on Camping World.
Question: Are they worth the investment - I would really like to keep the "winter" off the camper - but do not want to introduce additional interior problems.

Most manufactures do not recommend using RV covers. Most of the reports I have read on them they do more damage than good.

My neighbor went thru 2 covers in the past 4 years. He got the good ones. We live on top of a windy mountain and the wind shredded both covers. Agree with Hunter11 that they also do a rubbing type of damage on the exterior on the rv.

Hi Darrell, I live in Halifax too. I've also heard from many that covers do more damage, so I've opted against it. Tough to do as I'm driving a 2014 Sunset Trail and don't want anything to happen to it. If you'd consider spa e outside the HRM there are indoor spots still available.

talk to a a few - but all are full.

Glenn, thanks for the reply. My 5th is 13 feet high, so that excludes me from most indoor options. I was able to track down a few places, but they were full. I have looked down in the Valley and out past Truro - no luck due to the height. I have a a parking/storage spot next to my driveway that I had installed a few years ago, but was hoping for the inside option.....

Yeah I can see height would be a challenge. We're going into the Valley Exhibition storage barn. Brand new building, not sure of the height, but you may want to check it out. It's in Lawrencetown in the valley, just past Middleton.

Thanks for the info. I sent them an email tonight - hope to hear something tomorrow. Looks like this weekend coming up might be the last trip out. Going to Wide Open Wilderness in Truro...

Good luck.

Glenn, Darrell, I live in Halifax as well. I too am looking for inside storage this year so i will also inquire with the Valley Ex as Glenn mentioned.
We're heading to South Mountain this weekend as our final trip this season.
Glenn, is your handle a reference to a certain German sports car?
Cheers,
Shane

Hi Eighth, you are correct. It is a nod to it. I also see you have great tastes in TT. 29SS too. We love South Mountain, in fact we put our names on the seasonal list for next year as they're building several new sites.

Have fun. Good luck with the storage hunt.
Cheers Glenn

Glenn.
Cool, I have a 987. What a blast!
I saw where the new sites are being plumbed in at South Mountain. They look nice.
Might see you there some day.
Cheers,
Shane

Thanks Shane. Question for you. How does the f150 pull the 29SS? The Armada does well, but the fuel economy is just about killing me. $200 return to Yarmouth in gas.

It costs me $550 per year for indoor storage over the year. For outdoor storage plus a new cover every 3 years, it would cost about $350 every year. The extra $200 to keep it out of the harsh weather is justified in my eyes.

Glenn, the F150 tows really well. Disclosure: I just got it this past spring so I'm still in the honeymoon stage.
I really like how the Eco-boost engine works. Loads of torque in low rpm. For fuel economy, it's a truck, period so don't fall for the marketing. With the 3.73 rear end I'll get 13-14 litres per 100 Kms (mostly city) and about 24-25 when towing. Mind you when towing I don't take my time so someone else may be able to get better mileage than I. When towing, the truck will rarely hit 3000 rpm unlike my old truck, every hill it would be at 4-5000 rpm. All of this to say that I'm very happy with it but I've not driven the 5.0l F150 to compare...
Darrell,
The Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition in Truro still has indoor space. And yes Armoured, however I'm currently and temporarily wearing an Arty cap badge (long story)...

Glenn-

Sorry your 2005 C4S (996) is sold. My '01 C4 Cabrio w/aerokit (996) is sitting in my garage about to turn 20,000 miles. Top down trip to Tucson planned for early Oct.
