After just having my LR slide repaired under warranty.(The pin that holds to motor had broken and wrapped my motor around the bar) I was talking to the repair guy at Camping World and he told me I needed to keep the slide rails lubed. I told him that on my last Fifth Wheel which was a Jayco that I always used the Dry Slide Lube. The only reason I hadn't used any on my 2011 CF30 ES unit was because in the owners manual is clearly states not to use any lubricants only soap and water. He told me that was a bunch of bull ---- and I need to use the lube. Any thoughts on this?

According to the Lippert manual:

No grease or lubrication is necessary and in some situations may be detrimental to the environment and long term dependability of the system.

You can find manuals on all Lippert components at http://www.lci1.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article& id=54&Itemid=66

IMHO a CW tech would be the last person I'd take advice from I never use any lube as it only attracts dirt.... even the "dry" try.

Well that's what I thought also. When I used the dry lube on my other unit, it always collected dirt and grime. So, who knows what to think.

Odd!!! When we had a major problem with the LR slide and the slide rails required replacing (under warranty) a Lippert rep at our dealer used our trailer as a demo on how to replace adjust and lubricate the slide rails. He did not spare the lubricants and they were not dry. Three yrs later the slides move in and out quietly. However the rails get filthy. I pressure wash them and relubricate using Lloyds 3000. ???

Lippert changes it's pollicy with the problem. If you lube you shouldn't and if you don't lube it should of been done.
