We have a 2005 Cruiser and are havingissues with our toilet. We can't seem to get rid of the odor in the trailer. All vents are clear, tank is TOTALLY empty and clean, DHscrubbed, emptied, scrubbed, emptied, etc. over and over and the water coming out is clear. But it still stinks. Hetook the toilet apart and somehow there was "residue" stuck up around the toilet on the inside. I guess when the waste was going into the tank itsplashed up ???? Anyway, does anybody know of a better designed toilet that has a tube or pipe going straight down to the tank which avoids getting any waste splashed up inside the tank? Instead of the waste free falling which can then splash up and around the inside of the tank. You can't clean that unless you take the tank out and put it upside down to see it all. Which is exactly what we did. I have cleaned it but am afraid that if we put the same tank back in it will eventually happen and the odor gets pretty bad.. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Try adding a healthy dose of bleach and then fill the tank with water and let it stand for a period of time. I think that might solve the stink problem.

Thanks for all your help. We are going to change the toilet anyway now that it is out. I want a floot flush.. Can't stand the hand flush.. Don't like having my face directly over the toilet as I am flushing and opening the tank so all the lovely odors come right up into my face.. Yuck...

als when flushing, turn the fan off in the bathroom. It draws air up from the tank when you flush.

I replaced my toilet with the foot flush this past spring. I also didnt like putting my face close to where I just went. I really like the foot flush alot better.

Keep an eye on the back of the tank by the valve area and down on the floor,if you get a Thetford. My valve leaked some. I called them and they sent a replacement valve right away. I replaced it and have no problems now with it

You reach around to wipe, why not reach around to flush, rather then putting your face in it??

If you keep water in to bowl - you should not have an odor..

If you have an odor while there is water in the bowl then it is most likely coming up from a bad floor flange seal..
