I have a new F150 and I just bought a 2010 st29qb and its the heaviest I would want
you should look into the slingshot /sunset trail models unless you plan on getting a bigger truck

Your trailer is about 6900lbs, plus what ever you load into it, plus the weight of whatever is in your tanks. Max cargo capacity is about 3800lbs. Look at what the recommended max trailer weight is in the owners manual. You also have to look at the gross combined vehicle weight registered (GCVWR) which is truck(fuel and people)and trailer. I would think if you aren't right at the limit for a 1/2 ton truck, you are over. You also have to look at the axle weights front and rear with the trailer on to make sure you don't exceed them. Help or did I confuse you? Took me awhile to figure it out too (with the help of a scale master)

I pulled a 29 foot Sprinter TT with an 01 GMC pickup with the 5.3L V8 with no problem. I had the full factory towing package and a 3.73 rearend. The Sprinter weighed at 6800 pounds. Pulled it with no problems. If you don't have at least a 3.73 rearend you will be pushing it.

Yep, I am confused. I may just go with a used one ton which is available to me right now. Chev w. 454., take lots of fuel but it will handle it. It's an older truck but only has 64,000 on it. Thanks for the info., decisions are hard to make sometime, your comments are appreciated.

You can always have the rear end gears changed.

Investigate the Ranger Overdrive unit. Lets you have the best of both worlds (providing you aren't looking at a 4wd.

I have a CF27RLX (half ton towable) and I pull it with my F350 6.0 powerstroke diesel with dual wheels. I can only say it pulls great and stops great, however, I must say even with all that horsepower, I still feel it on hills.

I have never been to Tx but I don't think Tx has the hill that you see in NC. I would say this is not the best truck but drivin the right way and if it had a tow opition I would do it.

judtexone, We have ct29 that I pull with a 3/4 ton Duramax I know it's there but pulls great! I laugh at the "1/2 ton series" sticker on the side all the time.Buy the ol'454 and drive more comfortably.
