I would like to know if it is possible to tow a CF29CK with a short bed truck without a slider hitch.
Thanks

Best bet would get yourself a Sidewinder. It will also make most of you box usable as you will not have the Kingpin swinging around.</BLOCKQUOTE>

I have read all lot of folks tow without a slider or with a slider and never use. I have a short box with a slider. I don't have to use it. But sometimes on certain angles i get so close to hitting. I just made it a habit to use it while parking, just because i have it. And if i hit the hit with a slider that i didn't slide, then it would be "shame on me" If you are buying one, Then i would. If you are getting one for free or truck came with it then i would try it before spending the money.

Weeellll, not recommended. I have a short bed and the dealer strongly recommended a slider. Long story, short...left dealer for a campground, backed into the site, forgetting to use the slider.

You guessed it...a $150.00 ding on rhwe truck cab...and that was cheap.

Here is a demo on youtube. I had one installed by my dealer that sold me my Paradise Point. I got the upgraded Sidewinder with the Fifth Airborne air ride hitch attached. Here is a link to the sidewinder web site. Also check it out on rv.net . http://www.fifthairborne.com/The best online deal I belive is at tweetys http://www.tweetys.com/search.aspx?find=airborne.

Howdy
Iv'e been towing with a short box with no slider for 16 years no problem.Had to be careful with first two units. Have a 09 30sk cruiser now &amp; with the new shape of the nose I think I could jack knife it.
Just my 2 cents
Regards Cal

We have a CF30SK and you will definitely blow out the back window if you make too tight a turn with yours. It doesn't take much. Both the DW and I have each experienced the mess it makes both inside and outside the truck. On the two occasions, that we blew out the rear window, we didn't think the turn was that tight until it was too late. We have a slider and we now always use it if we need to make any kind of tight turn.Edited by: Hamops

I have to second the notion on getting the slider. I pulled for four years without using the slider. Only took one brokenback window and dented cab to make meuse it every time . The repair bill of $400 made it even easier to remember. Edited by: rgbeach

Hi
Point taken but my point was with the corners indented as they are now makes fora lot tighter turns. What I have to watch is that the pin box doesn't rub the rails I have on the truck.
