Good morning group. I have a 2016 Rezerve 31bh. I have been chasing an electrical issue for 2 years now. It comes up on my dash as a trailer wiring fault. This is on my 2012 Ford F150. It usually happens on bumpy roads and I'm hitting the brakes. It causes big problems with my braking. So far I've replaced the 7 pin connector along with 3 ft of wiring on the trailer. I've also run a separate wire overlay for the brake wire coming off the 7 pin connector to the 4x4 electrical box on the frame of the trailer. Checked the wires inside the box. Cleaned and tightened the ground wires on the frame of the trailer. Even replaced the connector plug on my truck along with the short wiring pigtail. I'm now lost of what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Lloyd, will definitely look into the rear brakes. Wasn't even thinking about them, figured I had a wire issue somewhere but guess it could be inside the drum.
I had a similar issue and it was the brake wiring running inside the axle. The insulation was worn off causing an intermittent short. I replaced the wire on the outside of the axle.

That will be next place I look then. Seems like a common problem. It's definitely in the brake circuit. I was hauling out last night and it happened again. Seems to be when bouncing and hitting brakes that's when it acts up and lose brakes.
I think in my case the wires may have been stripped from the sharp edges on the hole in the axle when they were pulled through. It didn't appear to be worn.
Ditto same here. Chased my “check trailer wiring” message for two seasons.
Changed 7 pin cable to camper, checked what I thought everything.
Found a tiny barely worn wire where it enters the axle tube.
Ran tape around for now, plan on running new wires on outside of axle tube ASAP
