Tripping breaker at the pole

My buddy has a 2015 crossroads sunset trail reserve 34bh. His thermostat blew a fuse and couldn’t read it to replace. He ended up putting the wrong fuse in and blew a diode. He ordered a factory thermostat and put that in. Now when he hooks up he starts with everything off. As soon as he turns the ac on, it trips the breaker at the pole hookup. What are suggestions on where to start diagnosing this. Thanks

Actually the ac will run for 30 minutes to an hour and then trip the pole breaker. Someone out there has seen this before, help me out. Is this site even active? Has anybody read this post?

Did he try hooking up to a different source? That would be a good start.
Could be a faulty breaker in the pole.

Does he have a good Rv surge protector on the line?
Certain protectors show if there is Low voltage, Incorrect wiring, and Power surges.

Let us know what happens. Tell him good luck.

Does his rig have 30 or 50amp service? If it's 30 amp, he might be running other stuff at the same time and over loading the service.
If that isn't the case, then I would guess maybe the campground breaker in the box is getting weak.

Tell him to check his plugin cord. I have seen where they can create the same issue after being used for a long time. The wires in them things can only take so much bending and twisting. The 50 amp cords are a bear to deal with any time.

From a Rv website:

Quote:
The biggest sign will be that everything shuts off in your RV. Yep, you have overloaded your external power.

The main reasons why the breaker at the house is tripping when your RV is plugged in are:

Missmatched electrical power, your RV requires much higher power than you are plugged into
Overloading the circuit with high demand systems like the AC or microwave
Low or bad batteries on the RV
Other things plugged into the outlet besides the RV (like the fridge)
Faulty or bad breaker
A short in the system
Too long of an extension cord
Aside from overloading, another reason why your RV keeps tripping the campground breaker could be your power cord. The wiring in the power cord actually causes resistance in the line and the longer the cord the less power arrives at the camper. Therefore, the draw at the start will be higher.

It is also possible that your power cord is damaged. That’s why the campground breaker keeps on tripping to avoid short circuits and fire.
