Lets' add some gasoline to the flames!!!

I found my truck...

A 2006 Chevy HD 3500 / 6.6 Duramax, Allison 6 speed automatic - 8 foot bed with 39,000 miles on it.

I have the HD 2500 in 6.0 gas but would love to haul the 32 foot zinger with this hunk of lovin, haulin chevy love!

Any Owners of the mentioned and pictured truck want to give details on wear and tear and little repair?

Dodge and Ford guys...need not get excited...this is the first one I found that I could afford.

cavy, I think that truck would haul your Zinger like it wasn't there. I don't know what trucks are selling for in your area but down here that price would be to high. I personally don't think there is much difference between any of the Big 3 HD trucks but there are others on here that will argue that point. I say if you like it and it will do what you want offer them less and see what they say. I bet you can get it for less in this economy.

Same truck as mine. Except mine is wearing the GMC badge. Wiring provisions for camper? HD Towing? This same truck as GMC was selling for $20,000 - $21,000 down here acouple of months ago.

One thing to consider, I think this model has the longest wheel base sold in 06. The turning radius is pretty wide. But the ride is awesome! I run mine stock and it gets about 12 MPG towing; 19 MPG empty. Not bad for the size of the beast.

Now that's a sweet ride! But I agree the price seems a bit high.

I can tell you from experience you will love the towing difference from the gas to the Duramax I have the same year truck with a short box and extended cab. The only problems I have had in 48,000 miles are the air bag light came on last year (had to have the sensor on the front bumper replaced) and most recently I had to have the steering and pitman arms replaced Apparently the chevy dealer doesn't grease the front end very well when they service the truck. Check the center link for free play!

I have an '01 DMax bought just to pull the camper. I have about 50k miles on it now. It is a 6 speed manual (ZF) 3/4 ton, 8 foot bed, extended cab.

Problems encountered:

Flywheel replaced @ 18k

Free update of ECU at the same time. Made it really come to life at 2000 RPM.

Thanks for all of the input. It does have the towing and wiring....It "Kelly Blue Books" a little higher in the northeast (Western Pa.).

I'll use the link provided "dieselplace.com" to further check into it. I will definately check into the front end steering, working section with my present dealer.

Now, If I can just get the wife to agree to a couple more years payments.

Thanks again

Cavy

OK....It's almost a done deal. Unless I get turned down for the loan...look out hills of West Virginia, Pa and out west.

The 3500 Diesel HD - 2006 will be in my possession sometime next weekend.

I can't wait to pull my trailer...

Don't see signature but it might read:

Cavanaugh's

HD 3500 Pullin'

Zinger ZT320QBS - hardly know it's back there.

Hooray! It is official. I picked up my new/used 3500 HD with the 6.6 Duramax / Allison 6 speed 1 ton monster...ok, it's stock but NICE!!

I think I'll go pull my trailer around town just to not feel it back there.

Congratulations on getting the deal finalized and the truck in your driveway. I know that you will really enjoy the extra power when pulling the trailer.

Congrats on the new ride... Nutt'en like a Diesel for pulling these trailers. We love our setup and cannot wait for warmer weather to get it out of storage. Did I forget to say the Dodge rules... Sorry for my manners...

Congrats on your new ride. You're gonna love it!...The only add on I'd highly recommend is a traveling partner that drives a Dodge in case you...OK, sorry, that's another thread.
