I do not want to start yet another multiple page "truck wars", but I am in the process of getting a new TV. I am trying to decide between the Ford F250 and Dodge 2500 Diesels, most likely a 2008 model. I was curious as to those of you who have either one, about the interior of the trucks.
To me, the Dodge seems like the interior is much cheaper and not as nice as the Ford. I am mainly looking and comparing the XLT Ford with the Big Horn Dodge.
For those of you with Dodge's, are the seats comfortable enough to take a multiple hour road trip ? The one's I am looking at, have the cloth interior and are NOT the Laramie model.
Same question for the Ford guys. These seem much nicer and a little more robust than the Dodge's. Are they comfortable for long periods of time ?
Anything you really like or really hate about the interior in yours ? What model and what is the issue ?
Thanks for your responses, looking forward to them !

Dodge 1500 Big Horn - cloth seats. Have towed for 7-8 hours and not felt wiped out after getting to our destination.

Time for the ford... Cloth seats in the super duty. Manual adjustments and I would say it rides well but ten hours is an absolute MAX. 8 hours is ok but you will know it.

We do about 9-hours in a Ford going to Minnesota, but we do stop for restroom breaks at about 1/2 way mark, makes me wonder if you other guys are using gallon milk jugs or something ..never sat in a dodge so I can't help you there.

I don't know much about the new Dodge, just the older ones and the drive train couldn't be beat but the interiors weren't much.I got a Ford because that's what I wanted after my looking at all brands. I don't think there is one truck I can't ride in as long as I want.Thats about 3 -4 hours now, also I haven't every had a truck pulling a camper that would go more than around 3-4 hours with out needing a fuel stop.

Arnt we assuming that either will make it that far . Sorry I coulg not resist.
Chevy is not in the running ??? I think chevy has the best interior but I can tell you for some reason in my truck I can't go very far with my wallet in my back pocket, Not sure why it never bothers me in any thing but my truck.
My Dad has a Dodge and I have always thought it was comfortable though I have never been in it all that long.
Good luck either way you may go.

I drove all three, Dodge, Ford and Chev before buying the Dodge.I ended up getting the Dodge for the Cummins and the deal I could get on it.
I agree that the Ford had a better looking interior. If I could have bought a Ford with a Cummins and an Allison transmission that would be my choice.
That said, I have the Big Horn with cloth seats and I havegone as long as 10 hours driving with a a couple of rest stops with little or no stress. I also have a occasional lower back problems and sciatica and these seats don't aggravate any of that. The seats are very comfortable and I especially like the lumbar support on the drivers seat.Bottom line, the interior isnot as pretty as the Ford , butit is pretty functional.

I completely agree with this statement !!! "If I could have bought a Ford with a Cummins and an Allison transmission that would be my choice."
I think if Ford did this They would make a ton of money !...... maybe the Fed's can force Chrysler and GM to give Ford the motor and transmission since they took federal money !!!
Chevy is out for now....little too pricey for me at this point in my life ! (why am I still in Italics, it will not go away !) Yes, I know about the potty breaks, I have a DW and two little girls !! we make plenty of stops. As of now, we stay pretty close to home, but am hoping with the upgrade in trucks we will be venturing further out.
Keep em coming, thanks for the replies so far !!

I have a 350 CC Ford, and I ordered the truck loaded, it's all leather, with heated seats and air bags that change the lumbar support, I bought every interior option that they had and it's more the comfortable and it looks nice, but I would never buy another 6.0, the motor has way too many problems, I have 52K on the truck, I looked at the dodge but the back seat at that time was small, we will be buying a new truck in a few years and I don't think it will be a ford, before I would but another Ford, even thou I like them the best, the motor would have to be a proven winnner....if I were buying used the last thing I would buy is a used 6.0.....grest when they run, expensive when the don't.........

I saw a new 250 or 350 ford, I have to say that was the best looking truck I have ever seen.,,, Other than mine of course lol.
Dodge has that new mega cab now don't they ? When we bought ours that was the reason for not looking at dodge, I didn't like how tight it was back there.

We have the Dodge 2500 with the mega cab. It isn't the best looking interior but it is comfortable, both front and back. We have driven 12 hours and it was fine. The seats seem to "fit" us better.

I have spent over 11 hrs one day driving my '07 F250 pulling the 5er and was completely comfortable doing it. I know '08s have a different dash, but uncertain on the seating material.Actually,I find my truck seatsmore comfortable than most reclinersecspecially with seat heater on.

I looked at new F-350 CC King Ranch, and it was absolutley beautiful, incredible interior, by far the best interior of any of the trucks, then again for a list of 68K you would expect that.....if you ever get to sit in one turn on the sound system and give it a listen.....too bad they can't build a motor..

I trade my '06 Expedition King Ranch for my '07 F250 Lariat and the King Ranch leather is awesome. It was so soft and comfortable that you didn't need seat heaters in the winter or coolers in the summer. I didn't think I would miss the King Ranch leather, but I do. Maybe on the next truck.

I sat in a new F250 last week and loved the interior. I also really like the step tailgate, but man that sucker is heavy when compared with a non-step gate.
Enjoy the new truck and nobody ever said you need to have a campsite to pull the trailer.
