Tv interference

When we have our bathroom exhaust fan on, we aren’t able to watch the tv. It has those horrible pixels on the screen, however, as soon as you shut off the fan the pick is crystal clear again. Any suggestions on what would be causing this issue?

Tv interference

I presume that the bath fan is 12 volt. Are you watching TV through cable or using the antenna. As the Booster for the antenna is also 12volt. The fan is likely interfering with the booster signal. They must be on the same 12volt system. As your TV is 120 volt or are you watching a 12volt TV. This is a wierd one. I have heard of 120 volt interfering with low voltage lines but not the other way. Have you had trailer since new. Maybe someone has changed some wiring along the way. On my trailer I disconnected the booster to the cable side and only use the booster for antenna side which pics up digital channels on most newer TV,s. Good luck must be frustrating.

We are using the tv with the antenna and 120 volt. We bought the camper used but the original owner said that a tv was never hooked up, they only got to use the camper a handful of times so I am sure nothing would have been changed by them. We will try and unhook the cable side as you suggested and see if there is any difference. Yes it is very frustrating! Thank you for you reply!

If there is an LED light that comes on at the same time as the fan it may be the led light.

I purchased some led lighting sorry do not remember the brand etc but I had to get rid of that batch as my TV would not work as you described whenever those LED lights were on.

Every camper we have owned does the same thing. A higher quality exhaust fan may help. Another thing we noticed is the stronger the TV signal the less it interferes.

The quality of the signal is weak. We are in a valley and reception is limited. Maybe this is our issue as well. Thanks

I suggest it is being caused by the cheap 12v fan motor. I had the same issue and replaced the motor with a better quality one from online. No more static and it is A LOT quieter.

We have the same issue both with bathroom fan and microwave fan.
Our front TV close to the antenna gets poor reception and the TV in back bedroom gets the best reception.
Don’t know why as this TV has a lot more cable to run thru to get to the TV.

You can try EMI RFI Noise Filter Cable Ring/Noise Filter Suppressor Cable Clips.

Here's an explanation.

I have the same issue I also changed my lights to LED and that made it worse. I added EMI RFI Noise Filter Cable Ring/Noise Filters, that did not help. I am just living with it. Sorry I am stuck.

There can only be one problem is that your fan is on the same power scource as the booster. I know it is all a 12 volt system but there are multiple cuircuts in your trailer. If you hook it up to your house cable feed to watch the TV turn on the fan see if you have a problem. If all else fails perfect solution is just don't run the fan while watching TV.
