Trying to do a little research as to what is the best suited Gen. to run my 26RL trailer.(basically the A/C) I have a Kipor 2000watt suitcase style right now. Which is a great unit because of the size and low DB raiting.

What is everyone running? I know Yamaha makes a EF2400 unit that is quite a bit lighter(70lbs) and still as quiet as the EF3000(150lbs) or the Honda EU3000(140lbs) models, which will do the trick. Just not sure if it has the start up power. I think my trailer has the larger 15000BTU a/c unit.

Would like to keep it small so I won't have to brake my back every trip!!
Any and all suggestions are great...

Check and see if the EF2400 has a unit to join with another EF2400 (like Honda) then you could get another EF2400 and keep the weight down for lifting.

I have the Yamaha EF2400isc. It serves us just fine. I have been real happy with it. Starts and runs our A/C OK. We only have a 13500 A/C. I'm not sure if there is any difference in the starting load between the 15000 and 13500 or not. I'm sure somebody will chime in here with the stats. I had the Honda 2000 with one of our previous units and I know this one as more power then the Honda. I wanted something a little bigger than that and not to heavy. Plus I didn't want to have two and run parallel.

I assume the Kopors 2000 can be connected together with another as the Honda and Yamaha. If thats true I would buy a second one of them.I have a Honda 3000 that will run my 15000 a/c,but thought about someday if I have to buy again, getting the 2 2000 watt just for the easy of moving them around. We use the 3000 mostly at Bristol race, but during the March race ,don't need air. Also where we dry camp in the mountains,we never use air.

You might also look at a quick start capacitor for the AC unit that might allow you to get away with just one 2400 watt unit.

I just dug out some info for the HH we owned when we had the 2000 Honda genny.
It had a 15000 A/C. The Honda started it and ran it. Probably maxed out tho.
Remembering back that was one of the reasons I went with the 2400 Yamaha this time. It also has the inverter.

I use a Honda 6500 EUis generator and LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out my installation pictures in the Seville area of this forum - should still be there.

Mounted on slides and lazy susan to allow fitting into side storage - rotating unit keeps exhaust out of basement.

Tested by running 15,000 and 13,500 air conditioners, converter, convection microwave, refrig, 2 TVs, stereo, Wii, and computers all at once. Worked absolutely GREAT while on our 3 week vacation out west. Ran total of 9 days straight in "primitive" areas.

Editted to correct most of my spelling errors.

I did the same thing with slides and a lazy susan but I have 2 Honda E2000's. By being able to rotate them, it makes it easier to gas up and like you said, direct the exhaust away. Almost as good as an installed unit.

Well, sold my 2000 watt Kipor Gen.
A buddy brought over his EU2000 Honda today and it started and run my AC(with everything off)...go figure?! Once it was running, could even turn on the lights and stereo. tried the fridge to, but it kicked it out. It didn't even seem to struggle to much(rev out) once it was running!
Atleast I know what it takes now. Might just stick with the lil EU2000 and run the fridge off propane, when we need to...not like we use the AC everyday in Saskatchewan Canada anyways! Just nice to know its there if needed...
