I am looking to upconvert the CG cable signal from the 720p that comes in to the 1080p that my 32 inch is capable of. I am pretty sure only a cable box will give me that upconvert or allow the actual signal to be processed as 1080p but I'm not sure if I can just buy a cable convertor. I'm not concerned with any pay channels or adult themed programs but just the normal basic cable that you get when connected to the CG signal. Does anyonme have any ideas?
Cable boxes are specific to areas and regions and also to individual account information. Not really practical unless you are permament and set up your own cable account.
Move to directv or dish and getthe wingard traveler on the roof and you can get high def with 1080pf
How does that work exactly? I was talking to our host and he told me that they take their second receiver from home, set up their dish at the campsite, and get satellite tv while camping. Is it that simple or is there more to it?
I do the same - (extra sat dish, receiver from home). Pretty easy to set up once you do it 2-3 times. Only issue is once you are out of your home area (usually more that a full state away) you will loose your local programming and only get the general channels.
We have a charge for"digital timeshifting" I think it's called. We get channels from coast to coast. Kind of strange watching news from the other side of the country, or the U.S.
Are you on DirecTV or dish? We have DirecTV at home and the Winegard Trav'ler on the RV. With DirecTV you need DNS (distant network service) to get the major networks. We take the DVR from home and use it in the RV. It's full HD.
