My 18' Crossroads Z-1 has a Coleman Mach AC. There is no thermostat. It is either on or off. The only option is high or low. Can someone give me a suggestion for a replacement. And would I have to replace the entire AC, or is there an option for a ceiling plate/panel with a thermostat that I could connect to the existing AC?
Maybe you can find something here. If nothing else, give them a call. I would think they should be able to steer you down the right road. https://colemanmachac.com/wall-thermostat/
If possible could you post a picture of the control panel or do you know the model number. My research all shows a thermostat on the control panel. One knob is - off - on - high - low. The other knob is the thermostat. Warmer - cooler.
If you have that information it would help a lot.
If you are asking about adding a wall thermostat it may be difficult to get the wires from the AC to the thermostat - thru the ceiling and down the wall.

Thanks. I guess I do have a thermostat. That two-knob system is exactly what I have. What I meant was that I'd like a thermostat/modification/ACsystem that would actually turn the system off instead of be a loud, energy suck 24-hours a day.
Have you checked with Coleman? They would be able to tell you if its possible.
We have the wall thermostat and leave it set to fan "on" so the fan runs all the time. We have found for us it seems to keep the camper at a steady temperature. On ours the lag time from the AC turning off and then the thermostat calling for it to turn back on let the camper get stuffy. At night to quiet the noise we turn it to low fan. Once you get used to it you don't even notice the noise.
