What are everyone's opinions on washer/dryer combinations. We are debating installing on in our Kingston. Is it worth the money?

We plan on having a stacked W/D in our next trailer. Unfourtuately Crossroads does not offer a floor plan that will accommodate one.

I have heard that the dryer takes forever to dry clothes.

my unit is washer/dryer ready and we looked into it, I have found the stack from Sears to be the best deal, and the least expensive to repair, basically the best bang for the buckm the one piece comes in 2 kinds, vented and unvented, the unvented are terrible, takes forever to dry colthes, the vented is better but in either of the one piece the load size is really small, and you also need to use the soap designed for them...if your going to go with a washer/dryer go with the stack, ans remember if one piece dies you can just replace that piece, we decided againt it, my unit is now to old to invest any money in but I am sure the next will have it....

A combo unit does take a long time to dry the clothes. From what I have read about2 to3hours for a wash and dry cycle.

We have combo unit in our 36' Silverado since 2004. We did not want to loose all closetspace awith stacked unit, but it is slow to dry. I think any unit operating on 120 volts will be the same as you don't have the wattage of the 240 volt ones. We live in our unit 6 months a year and find it better than running to laundry all the time. One learns to adjust! Most dry cycles are 70 minutes with ours.

I have the Spendide unvented washer/dryer on my boat. It uses an enormous amount of water and takes forever. 2 to 3 hours for a small load is about right. I love it on my boat because there are no laundramats on the water and most marinas don't have them either. It is a waste of money and wieght to have one in an rv in my opinion as most parks have a laundry on site.
