Washing with a power washer

Does anyone wash their camper with a power washer with the soap going through the washer? if so what soaps have you found that work good. I read on another non camping forum people used Simple Green to wash their vehicle. Does anyone else use Simple Green on their RV or vehicle.

I still use a bucket, brush and hand wash the camper, but I use the

power washer with the low pressure soap nozzle on it to soak it down

with soap then a use the brush. I was wondering if anyone else use their

power washer to do the same and what kind of soap you use.

Never used a pressure washer to washer the camper, I suppose it wouldn't hurt anything as long as you keep the wand far enough away. Get to close and you could peel the caulking right off the sides. I only use car soaps on anything I put wax on. Some people use dish soap and other non-car soap stuff and it will remove the wax. If simple green does not remove wax I would think it would be ok. If you have ever wax your rig you know that you don't want anything taking it off prematurely.

Be careful with the high pressure around the windows...knew of someone that wasn't and got water inside the camper...

The soap nozzle for the power washer has very low pressure on it.

i have used simple green on our TT before . i do not use a pressure washer though .

when i use the simple green , i just spray on the area that won't come clean with regular soap and water . does a nice job, but it will remove your wax . just need to remeber the spot you usedit on and apply a coat of wax on that area

I tried my pressure washer from about 3' away. It didn't get the road grime off which required a rag. I tried a bit closer and it still didn't work well. I don't use it anymore....a washing mit and car wash soap is all I use now. It takes more time but hand washing does a better job.

I only use a good car wash/wax with a long handled wash brush and am finished in short time. A good hot solution usually removes bugs, etc but a black streak may need black streak remover of some kind. A pressure washer just don't do the job even with a revolving brush attachment on the wand. It is hard to find one of those that is durable!

This is a labor ofpracticality. Do it by handdon'trisk any damage to decals. Power washers have such a widevarietyof pressure there is no standard recommendations. It allows you an opportunity to get up close and inspect your caulking. This is the key to maintaining a waterproof unit. I use a wash designed for gel coat and use straight dawn soap for bug removal. Wet, spray , sit 2hoursdoes the trick for us Wax it or you have wasted your time. Happy Trails
