We have a 08 Kingston 33Sk and it has a water filter in the basement and I have not taken time tounload the basement and remove the shield so I could look at the filter.

I am assummingthat it is ahousing type with a replaceable cartridge filter, if so, can the cartridge filterbe removed and not be replaced?

If I canput the housing together without the cartridge will I need any special seals?

I removed the filter from the housing on ours as soon as we got the trailer since it was a pain to get to and we filter the water before it gets to the trailer. You should be able to pull the housing, remove the filter and replace thehousing. I took and put a thin layer of Vaseline on the rubber O ring before I put the bottom of the housing back on. Ours has been like that for over a year now.

I relocated our filter unit to a position just inside the basement door with a bypass system so that I could change filters without discharging system. This way I still have the tank water filtered along with the city water without having to set up an addtional outside filter. Works really well for us. I do admit the factory set up was a PITA.

Thanks for the replies, I will remove my filter and am not sure I will use a filter. I have had the felling that if I leave the fiver set for sometime in the hot weather and leave the cartridge in place soak with water it may not be a good thing.
