Water flow meter

Has anyone found a reasonably priced water flow meter with auto-shut-off?

This is what I use, no auto shut-off. It is fairly accurate.https://www.amazon.com/Rainwave-RW-9...%2C344&sr=8-10

I can see the flow meter use but why the auto shut off? Just doing a little looking and most I seen with a auto shut off were for a sprinkler and rated in hours and 100's of gallons.

What are you wanting to do/accomplish with it?

Water flow meter

I am attempting to measure the amount of water going into my black tank flush connection so I do not have to go to the monitor board to see how full the tank is. My concern is if I get distracted and it overfills, so it would be nice to have a shut off say at 40 gallons on a 50 gallon tank.

Got it.

I just use the timer on my phone and after the first time now know that 4 min. is the best amount for my tank. That way I stay with the flush connection until finished. I did add a hose shut off at the flush connection so I can turn the water off quickly if needed.

Just seams that most with a "Auto" shutoff are for sprinklers and are measured in time or 100's of gallons.

I too just have a shutoff valve on my hose. It gives me a little more piece of mind, and I don't have too many pieces left!

I hope you are having your black tank dump valve open while filling. My four rigs said to not fill when the dump valve was closed due to the possibility of 0verfilling or rupture.
Personally I just run water in while dumping and dump till clear. Cannot overfill.

water flow meter

I had been leaving the dump valve open when I am using the flush kit, however with some of the low pressure at the camp dump locations I can never seems to get the tank water to be clean. This week I filled the tank with the valve closed twice and I did finally get clear water. A fellow camper said he has had to do this to get a good flush. I also have changed over to the GEO method that someone on this forum suggested and I think that has helped.
It just seems odd that I cannot locate a flow meter that will shut off at say 35 gallons, I certainly do not want to over fill. The camp location this week had very weak water pressure and it took about 12 minutes to fill my 40 gallon tank, but if I am at another location with better water pressure I am sure it would take less time. I may buy one of the cheap flow meters and set a timer for 7 - 8 minutes in case I get distracted. Plus, I would like to measure 5 gallons into my tank when I am finished so I can put in my GEO mixture, cascade, calgon & bleach.

I always close my valve and run water for about 3 minutes. Then drain. I repeat until water is fairly clear. I repeat rinse usually about 3 to 4 times.
Never came close to filling the tank.
I just never walk away from the rinse valve. And i do have a shut off valve at end of my rinse hose.

I close my valve when flushing for a few minutes too.
