Water Heater Zinger 340BH

Just recently purchased the CR Zinger 340BH and haven’t had luck with water heater. We’re living in it full time and don’t want to have to bring it in to get checked so hoping to find a solution here. Runs on both gas/electric and will only get Luke warm on gas (nothing in electric). How do I access bypass valve? Neighbors have said it may be the circuit board but service department is saying if it gets like warm it may be that the balance needs to be adjusted. Any help?!

Your hot water heater may be in winter mode. Here is a pic for the summer setting of the valve.

Our bypass seems less complex as this picture, and according to the instructions it seems accurate.
