Has anyone used Waze mobile navigation?
http://www.waze.com/
I started using this yesterday and I love it. It warns you about cops, road closures accidents. It's great! We were driving home yesterday and we got an update about a hidden cop. Not to mention its free. Does anyone have any thoughts about this app?

So far I've been using this thing all week and I love it. It's shows you the speed traffic is traveling in the area so you can decide to go around it. If you are meeting someone you can share your route and they can watch you in real time and get an ETA. It gives you the cheapest gas prices along your route so you can choose where to stop. So far no complaints I recommend checking this app out, it works on Android and iPhones.

My only question is...is this an app for a cell phone? If so, do you have to look at it while you're driving? Or do you pull over and check it before you start your trip? Just wondering...I don't use a cell phone when I drive...nor do I text...ever LOL Just wondering.

Thanks,
Jim

Maybe the hidden cop warning is the hint to drop your phone!

Would be okay for your passenger to have this app in Alberta as it is against the law to use cell phones, text, etc- distracted driving law

It's a navigation app. So you enter your destination as you would any other. It does not allow you to type while moving unless you check off that you are the passenger. You can leave it on without adding a destination and you can see traffic speeds, police officers, gas prices etc. I mount my phone on the windshield like I would my GPS.
