We had ours weighted at truck stop on I-12, camper hooked up and tow vehicle and trailer fully loaded. He gave us a complete break down of the weights. The tow vehicle steer axle, tow vehicle drive axle, and the trailer dual axle weights. Then gave us the total weight of everything. He said our weight distrution hitch, transferred the trailer tongue proportionally. Hope this helps.

Actually, it depends...
your trailer weight will be split between the trailer axles and the tongue (or pin weight) on the tv's rear axle...

IMHO, the best 'weigh' to do it is 4 corner weights,
but the second best (and easiest to find) is to spend $9 or $10 @ a cat scale --> they are here
it can give you 3 weights, the steer (front) axle, the drive (rear axle) and the trailer weight (In our motorhome's case, we line up to get the tag axle as the third weight)

On the cat scale website it explains how to get all your other weights from there --> https://catscale.com/how-to-weigh/

As you can see below, we were overweight on the F350 SRW TV by a couple hundred poubnds, but with all the additional towing accessories I added and registering it at a higher rate, we got by for the short bit we had it before returning it.

the next one shows the jeep we tow behind our
Monaco class a shown last..

a BIT more weight than the redwood and f350 40880 lbs, 20 TONS !!!!!

Thanks guys i was more wondering why my tongue weight was so high at 1465 and i just remembered....lol my black tank is full and both my gray tanks have water in them so that covers the extra weight on the tongue, think I'll cross the next scale i see.

How did you come up with tongue weight?

Did you weigh your tow vehicle without the trailer ?

Yes weight the truck by it's self and after i weight the trailer tongue then hooked up the trailer and put the trailer on the scale.

truck by its self
front 3740
back 3520
trailer only
tongue 1460
trailer only hooked to truck 8300

So...
truck by its self
front 3740 +
back 3520 = 7260 tv weight

and to get tongue weight, there are a few ways to do it...
but think you are missing some weights...

Here are my results from the truck scale. TV front axle 2780 lbs, TV rear axle 2880 lbs. , trailer 3360 lbs. Total GCW is 9020. We pull with a Traverse, with tow package, and its total combine weight rating is 10250 lbs with a trailer hooked to it. It is rated to pull up to a 5200 lb trailer with the tow package. Our camper is 3300 lbs dry weight, with 2 propane tanks and battery on front, holding tanks empty.

So looking at my results, with tv and trailer hooked up on the scale, it is under by about 1230 lbs. Now this is empty holding tanks, but trailer has cargo in it. I try to keep it under max specs.

Just trying to help, but dry weight is almost meaningless *nad in many, MANY mfg's cases it's very wrong too )

My redwood real 'dry' weight was 1400 lbs over the stated dry weight...
Then when I loaded all of Momma's shoes - WHEW
