How can we tell when they're set "right" for our TT and TV? We didn't have them on our 16' rig.

Take it to a level parking lot, when the unit is level with the truck you are mostly there. It make take small adjustments from there

I would measure the distance from the top of the front and rear wheel well openings of the TV to the ground without the trailer, then do the same measurements with the trailer. Any change should be approx. the same front to rear on the TV so that you load both axles about equal.

The idea is for the TV to remain level and the front wheels to not lose steering.
