Is that an H bracket that CR has started using for areas that have developed stress cracks in the pass?

Mine cracked a couple years ago the the H molding is the fix. Mine was further forward close to the front corner of the slide. Pretty common issue. Whoever installed that could have at least painted it to match the decal!

It doesn't matter that yours is a 2014, all frames flex and that H strip will prevent the skin from cracking. Better that it comes from the factory from the get-go. Many brands use this H strip.
