Where are they all going to camp?
https://www.businessinsider.com/rv-t...ventory-2021-6
I don’t know where all of the people who are buying all of these units are going to be camping? Here in Wisconsin the state park campgrounds are extremely difficult to get into on the weekends and a lot of private campgrounds have waiting lists for permanent site availability. I don’t even know of any new campgrounds being built in our area.

Same up here in Manitoba Canada. Any sites in provincial campgrounds available are basic no service sites. I bought a new 5th wheel back in early May. Used camper prices jumped up a lot and I sold my Zinger to the first guy who came down for 3k more than I would have normally sold it for.

I believe the crowding will be short-lived. It's crazy so many are buying Class A's as a first camper! The bloom will be off of the rose the first time they deal with black tanks, mosquitos, parking, etc. Many are diving head-first into a world they don't know. Many will bail out. Wait until they try to sell!

Yes same here in Alberta. Provincial campgrounds are absolutely full every weekend and during the week.
RV storage yards are full to capacity.
It is crazy.
And no new campgrounds under construction.
Oh and in AB you can do what is called "Random Camping" that is where you go find a wide spot in the road on a crown asset road (one owned by the provincial government) and all the wide spots are occupied by 1 to several campers, no regulations, no police of the weekend warriors.

Here in Missouri it has been crazy. Campgrounds are always full according to the reservation sites but if you drive thru them there are always some cancellations but then it is to late. You can reserve up to 6 months out. We have a small state park that has NO dump station or full hookups so it is usually not to full but this year it has been a lot fuller. And good luck at the COE campgrounds.

Yep, MartyinSC, you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
!8 months time is when to buy a very lightly used RV methinks....

We predominantly camp at COE campgrounds (IL, MO, KY, TN, etc.) and it has not been an issue for us to reserve sites on the dates and at the locations we desire. We have 14 trips booked this year which include three week long stays. It's all in the planning!

There’s still plenty of places to camp if you’re resourceful and don’t mind boondocking. BLM land, National forests, harvest host and Hipcamp are a few good resources. Here in WA state I was able to get reservations at a local RV park with only 2 week’s advance notice at a private RV park on the coast.
It is certainly getting crowded though!!

How come all weekends are taken when you try to book a site yet open on weekdays on each side?
No way to get full week.
Something smells bad.

One reason is people work during the week and camp on the weekends.

Since retired. For short trips my wife and I camp Monday til Friday. And get out before the crowds show up.

There was a National Park Ranger on TV the other day. She stated the National Parks were pretty much booked for the summer. I guess that means you better be one of those that have a reservation if you have plans to visit.

The other day I started counting campgrounds within 1 1/2 mi. from me. I came up with 6.
Four of them are relatively new, within 3 or 4 years, at the oldest. Wife and I took a ride, and the last one, which is about 1/2 mi. down the road was about half full. Plus, there was a for sale sign by the driveway.

Weekends anyplace are outrageous. Trying to do a trip from Rochester NY through Milan OH, Frankenmuth MI, Somewhere around Mackinaw- bucket list to see the island, down to Covert/Southhaven, and back home through Columbus OH. Got everything but but Mackinaw area. I think I can charge $100 a night here at my house - maybe that will cover $300 for 3 nights at the place in Makinaw City!
