I have a buddy that owns a 80,000 dollar 5ver that he bought brand new a couple years ago and he never wash's it or puts any kind of wax on it. It looks like crap with black streaks all over it. He has plenty of time to wash it and can do so at home. I just don't understand why people spend that much money and don't care about keeping it looking nice.

Maybe one reason is because he has plenty of money to get a new whenever he wants and doesn't plan on keeping it for long where I plan on keeping my 5ver for a long time so I have to take care of it.

Having washed mine today -- a spongeas far up as i could reach and a soft-bristle broom from a ladderfor everything else-- I can understand. <grin> At 34 feet long and about 12 feet tall at the highest point, it was a TON of work on a hot, humid day.

I've decided I'm investing in a power washer next year.

Laziness..

Just got done washing mine. about 4 hours to get the hose ready to cleaning the widows, Awning and The roof wash & inspect. PC of cake, Just hours. It was hotter than skunk and got sunburn on my forehead. No reason health wise to not wash it. I even have a bad herniated disc and a bad SI joint in my back. I still do it. I pay the price that night and take meds, Stick on my inflammatory patch and lay on my heating pad.. But the work still got done. Camper is shiny new.

I gots a hose, I gots a ladder and i gots the time. And i work 50 hours a week still, Not retired. And i still have a million other things to do around the house.

Just plain old laziness and or, As you said,, Money.

Just do your own thing. It is a nice experience to wash and wax your rig (tow vehicle included). It is a 2 day chore. Some folks are not able, some do not care and some will pay someone else. Definitelybe leary of the power washer. Less is more.
If you do not take care of it you have less to to be happy and proud of. JMHO

We are also amazed at how people spend money on things and don't take care of them.

We leave our Zinger at a campground year round. The cost for season camping is about $1500 (May-Oct), and people pay that price while investing in the RV and never use it...not to mention not taking care of the unit itself.

I was/wax ours about 2X per year, rinsing roof more often, and wekeep inside clean as the summer runs on and thoroughly at end of season. I can say we will probably upgrade in a few years, but I want my stuff in tip-top shape regardless!

Same goes for tow vehicles...people don't take care of truck/trailer, then wonder why they have a breakdown.
