Wood Chips

My Cruiser Touring Edition is 1.5 yrs. old and we have started seeing large quantities on wood shavings at the right front corner of the kitchen / entertainment slide evertime it is opened and closed. Is this something I should be worried about or is it result of messy workmanship?

If you're talking sawdust that's normal as they don't ever pickup/cleanup anything during construction. If it's something larger (you said shavings & titled it wood chips, I said sawdust) you may want to investigate just to be sure it's not something more serious.

If you've had your trailer a year and a half and it's now, just started to accumulate "wood chips" or sawdust, I'd check for termites. Here in So Cal, termites leave those sawdust trails where they infest.
Good luck.

We've had ours 4 1/2 years & every time we relocate there's sawdust on the couch & not from termites.

On my former Jayco Rv, the first 2 outings with the AC on looked like it was snowing sawdust. From that point on, we bought a sweeper vac to keep in the Rv.

Every place that is blocked off seems to have sawdust, screws, shavings and clipped wire. I vacuumed out my heat duct and my next stop it had more wood shavings. They only clean the area you can see and leave every you can't see full of junk.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I too believe that the chips and coming out every time the slide and camper are moved. I know from having to fix a water leak and crawling into the belly that absolutely nothing is cleaned up from construction. I will continue to monitor the situation.

I still get the dusting after a year. Usually happens in two places so we just clean it and move on.
