Greetings from the Farside

I loved Gary Larsen's Farside comic strip so I chose the name farsidefan1. I purchased a GMC Denali 3500 with 6.7 diesel and Allison transmission so I wouldn't have to worry about which RV I could buy.
Had that for a few weeks and yesterday went out and bought a CR28RL. My wife didn't want to go over 30 feet but she decided she could add an extra 11 inches.
Won't pick it up till they finish installing the Satellite dish, solar panel, 5500 generator, exterior paint protection, rear view camera and a few other necessities (lol, like I know what is necessary at this stage of my new RV experience).

I'm a bit intimidated by RVing as I'm probably one of the 3 or 4 least handy guys on the planet. Fortunately my wife who in addition to being a top biochemist is very handy as well. I just do what she says . She gave me a kidney to keep me around a year ago so in addition to her being smarter than me she has some extra credibility to me.

I'm hoping to learn a bunch here and as I do I'll share that with others. Thanks for having me in here.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you did your homework and have a nice setup. Everyone is new to camping at some point. If you have questions, ask away. There are a lot of great people with lots of experience here.

Greetings Farside. Congrats on your new setup.
Sounds like you have a very nice better half.
Enjoy your new truck and trailer, you apparently deserve a little R&R.

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on the new toys. Maybe the biochemist can figure out a way to keep the tank sensors clean........

Nice of her to give you a kidney. In 32 years the only thing my DW has given me is a headache.......LOL

I tried to post a pic of the truck (5th is in the shop getting all the stuff added) but the pic is on my desktop and the image "getter" wants a URL. I'll get my wife to help once we get the rig.

Next challenge is finding a place to store it. Dealer said I can keep it stashed there for a few months.

Farsidefan

I too am an old far side fan, so much so that I named 2 boosts "the far side".
Did you know when Gary Larson was going for his first job interview at a vetrenarians he hit a dog!
