Hello from Holly Ridge NC
Dave and Alison here, we live in eastern North Carolina and camp primarily in NC, SC, VA, KY, GA and FL. We prefer state parks over private resort type places.
We love our Sling Shot 24RB purchased spring of 2014. We have enjoyed about 30 trips so far and logged just over 12k miles. We pull it with a 2005 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi with tow package installed.
We made several modifications for convenience. We removed the dinette table and seating and installed an electric fire place. Installed a 43" LED HD TV, replaced the incandescent lamps with led lamps. Installed an electric tongue jack. I plan to install an auto level system this winter.
On the truck we installed air ride on the rear axle. I no longer need the sway bars and hook up is a breeze. I did not use a kit but created my own setup which I feel is much more stable and easier to use than the control kit available. Message me for more info on this.
Pros about the RV, easy to tow. The spread axle is much more stable than the conventional. Light weight. We pull through the mountains with ease. Layout is cozy and bed is comfortable. Ample storage and great lighting. Construction is solid and the finish is holding up well.
Cons, battery cover is hard to remove for charging. You need to reach way under to pull the drain valves. Bathroom fan is louder than most.
As I said we lover our Slingshot but that's not to say there have not been any problems. I had to repair the broken sink drain. The hose was too short when installed. When the slide moved in/out the hose flexed at one of the fittings. The roof vent leaked but this was a defect with the vent. No other issues thus far.
I want to add that we keep the exterior clean and perform all of the recommended maintenance.
Happy Camping fellow members.
