Kingston KF30SB

Hello all,

My wife and I are purchasing a Kingston KF30SB. It is used, a 2011, but in amazingly good condition. We are super excited, it has pretty much everything we wanted.

I didn't think to put the slide outs IN while looking at it. Does anyone know if I will be able to get to the refrigerator, kitchen drawers/cabinets, and the dresser at the foot of the bed with the various slide outs in?

Any advise on this 5th wheel?

Looking forward to using it!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Looking at the floor plan and cutting out the slides and then moving them in flush with the outside walls, it appears that you will not be able to get to the kitchen or refrigerator. It also appears that the bed will be up against the chest of drawers in the bedroom when that slide is in.

I think Kemp is right on the money doesn't look like you will be able to get to the fridge...You mentioned in your post you didn't put the slides in while you were looking over the RV...I would suggest to you even though this is a used camper you should do a PDI on this camper before you buy...There is a PDI list in the document section of this forum...It might help you find a problem before you buy the camper...

Thank you! The floorplans you attached are very helpful. I had the floorplan with the slides out, but not in, so that is very helpful to see!

Thank you for the advice! I found the PDI and downloaded it. Great resource. The slides were in when I got there so I did see them operate all three slides out, but I had not paid attention as to what was accessible inside before the slides were out. I checked it over pretty good and it is in pristine condition, but of course I always forget or miss some things, so the PDI will be very helpful. I have not yet purchased it, so I will use the PDI if/when I go back. Thanks again!

You're welcome. That was just a little Photoshop work on the floorplan to pull the slides in.

I agree, Kemp you the man...I am not good with stuff like that...The only thing I would add is I would put the slides in and then see if you were able to get to the fridge...I am sure if you could you would be able to open the fridge...I am only saying this because unless you are sure the drawing is to scale, nothing is the same as physically checking it out in person...Also unless I misunderstood your going back for another look before you buy, perfect time to check...Let us know how it goes...Good luck...

I know when we went to buy our Crossroads, we looked for 2 things specifically.

Easy to get to fridge when slides are closed.

Access to the bathroom when slides are closed.

Hey all, I'm still checking out this Kingston KF30SB for sale. It definitely seems like it was designed for camping with full hookups (there are no 12 volt plugs anywhere inside). We prefer to do dispersed camping. Although we aren't going 4-wheeling with it, some of the areas have uneven roads and there are sometimes humps, dips and other uneven surfaces to maneuver. Our current 5th wheel has no issues.

This KFS0SB is a little lower than my Grand Surveyor, but not by much and I am comfortable with it except....the sewer drain pipe is surprisingly low. It is only 9" off the ground and 2 1/2 feet in front of the wheels (see pic). If it was either mounted higher, or closer to the wheels, I would feel more comfortable with humps, dips, and uneven surfaces.

Anyone have experience with drain pipes 9" or less from the ground and going to dispersed camping areas? Is this a recipe for disaster?

From the picture the spring is in the upper hole on the hanger. You could move them to the lower hole for some increased ground clearance.

Just curious how rough are the roads where you want to go?

Without knowing what kind of camping the previous owner did with this camper, I would say unless the waste water pipe looks like it had been repaired after previous damage, you should be fine...After all it is ten years old...
