Having recently transferred to N. Texas, and being blessed to have started a career that allows us two days off a week, we've found ourselves able to take advantage of the top-notch state park system they have here.

Donna and I have enjoyed our Sunset Trail ST27RB for a year now, but due to a job that only allowed 2 days off a month, it was basically used to camp in the drive-way and dream of a real life with time to enjoy it. As my Dad use to say, "Either poop or get off the pot!", so now here we are halfway across the country enjoying our "Mid-Life Adventure" as Donna calls it, and realizing how good life is when you have time to enjoy it!

We've surfed many of the forums here in the past for ideas or to have like questions answered, but now that we're camping all over N. Texas on a regular basis, and fixing to hit the W. Arkansas and Oklahoma regions, it's only appropriate to stick our heads in and say "Hello!".

Without knowing it, many of you have helped us either with questions we've had or with ideas that make life easier. Thank you, and we hope that in the future, some of our experiences wil help some of you in return.

We're looking forward to talking with ya'll! Happy Camping!

Welcome tothe Forum and to Texas. In addition to the great parks in Texas you will find thatArkansas and Oklahoma have some great parks also and they are an easy drive from N. Texas. Our favorite is Lake Catherine State Park at Hot Springs, AR. Robber's Cave State Park at Wilburton, Ok is also very nice.

Good for you that you can get out and use the St!!! We have the same unit and like it!! We just don't get to go as often as we would like to. Poor planning on our part.
we live in western Colorado and are close to eastern Utah. We just need to plan better and go more often.

State parks and COE campgrounds are our favorites here in TN. They generally have larger sites and more shade. We also get a 50% senior discount now which adds icing to the camping cake. As an example, here's our last site at Poole Knobs COE CG in LaVergne TN. In Sept we'll be camping there for two weeks, right on the lake shore, in our new ZT19RD.
