New 5th Wheel Owners - Cruiser Aire 28RD

Well, we did it. We just purchased a new Cruiser Aire 28RD and pulled it home and got it into storage. It was my first time pulling a 5th wheel, and it is a huge upgrade from our bumper pull travel trailer.

We for sure are a little nose high, and will need to figure that out. I since lowered my hitch 1 inch. I will pose separately on that and hope for suggestions and guidance.

We are looking forward to a maiden camp in a couple of weeks somewhere close by here in Oklahoma!

Congratulations! We’re making reservations for our second outing in early May. We picked ours up in late October and got it out once in early November. We really like it but haven’t fully used it yet. It’s covered with about a foot of snow on it right now.

Happy camping!

Nothing like the smell of a new unit. Congrats and welcome to the forum. A lot of great information here.

Hello and Welcome.

Nice rig. The second picture it looks just a little high but not too bad. One thing after pulling it a few times it will "settle" the truck springs. So if it were me i would use it a few times and then see how it sits.

One thing to check is the spring hangers on the camper. The newer ones have two holes. Moving from the top to the bottom will raise it about a inch. To gain that same inch you would need tires 2 inches taller.

Congratulations on the new camper. Now for the weather to get better.

I went with the B&W Patriot 16k non-slider. No air bags on truck. It really did not squash it to far down at all.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the hangers, and it appears to just have one hole, but it looks like it would be where the bottom hole would be anyway.

Yea I have a 2016 Cruiser and just last August purchased a 2020 Chevrolet 2500HD Custom. Even though the 5er is level with the bed rails it set a few inches lower at the rear of the camper but pulls fine.
