New Crossroads owners

Hello. We are Monte and Jane Morris, both retired high school teachers, and have recently upgraded to an immaculate 2008 29CK Cruiser 5th wheel from a 2002 Keystone Sprinter. We have workamped all over the US since 2005 about 6 months/year and spend the rest of the time at home in northeast Missouri. Our Sprinter served us well, but we felt it was time to upgrade. We will be workamping only one more summer season before heading south as snowbirds for part of the winter. We will most likely end up in Arizona or New Mexico for 3-4 winter months each year and are searching for parks with lots of activities. If you have any suggestions, we would be happy to entertain them. If you have any suggestions for pitfalls or irregular maintenance that needs to be done on this model Cruiser, we would be grateful for that information also!

2008 is one of the great years for Cruiser fifth wheels...I would think that the original owner had all the bugs worked out of your camper, and that all you should have to deal with are items that will wear out at this point...Any how the best of luck with your new to you Cruiser, and welcome to the forum...

Welcomes

Thanks for all the welcomes! We pick up our camper on Wednesday after getting the front cap re-painted/coated.

Welcome, as with any used unit, first priority is check the tire date codes and if they are over 3 yrs old, replace them. Also inspect brakes and repack bearings and probably replace shackle bolts. You do not know the age, maintenance or damage these items have seen and you don't need a breakdown on the road. Check spare tire, it is probably 8 yrs old with original valve stem and rubber stems are a big cause of blowouts. Also inspect all caulking.
