Hello All,

We just bought, Friday a new to us 2014 Sunset Reserve 32RL

We have been leary since all our friends are getting new RV's and have tons of problems. Our old 2002 Nomad was great, barley any issues so we kept it for a long time. Our youngest likes to tent camp so we decided to get a unit without bunks.

As luck has it we brought in home Friday night, moved everything over from the old to the new and now one of the slides won't go in

Guess we are in for a long ride.....

Congrats on the new RV. Sorry about the troubles. Did you buy from a dealer? Have you called them?

Is the camper plugged in? It could be your battery is not charged enough.

Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.

Does the motor make any noises when you push the rocker switch?

You can check for loose wires at the slide motor.

Worse case, there should be a manual crank to bring the slide room in so you can transport it back to the dealer.

Thanks

Thanks Sean.

It was plugged in. The motor was running once I had someone else here to listen they could hear it run then stop. I followed the directions for out is sync motors and that fixed it although that whole side sounds like metal grinding against itself. Not sure if off track or if it just needs lube.

Thanks for replying,
Rose

Glad it closed. Grinding metal doesn't sound good. I would think if it we off the track it wouldn't move. Did the sides all close up evenly?

Which system does your unit have? We had a 2011 that was the wormgear+track
Lippert Schwintek system and sometimes you have to "reset" the memory to move it in and out and it can be pretty noisy when working properly.

If it has the cable+pulley set up, not totally sure if those get out of sync.

You are not supposed to use traditional lube the Schwintek system. If I recall you are to use PTFE synthetic stuff to keep the dirt out. Again, check your system and if it is the Schwintek here is a link to get you going.

Welcome from CT to the forum. Did you get the SF32RL (5th wheel) or the ST32RL (travel trailer)?

Hi guys new to the whole trailer world coming from forever tenting. Looks like we are going to get a used 2011 19 ft slingshot looks like they never used it really or took really great care of it. What can I expect for problems, where can I find an owner's manual, how do I learn about plumbing, electric, tires so I don't have major issues and can handle it all. Yup the woman gets stuck with the maintenance in this family. It irks me especially when he says are you sure but I managed to fix washer, install dishwasher, keep our house plumbing clear, fix outlets etc at home. I am the one that starts the snow blower and 4 wheeler. Yup I swear like crazy am a mom and RN stop giggling. Help me out guys need to learn

Welcome from a fellow NYer. Northern Dutchess
Sorry can't be much more help than what is already posted. If dealer purchased return to Dealer, enjoy safely and follow the forum, glean great advice from some very knowledgeable and helpful folks.

We are returning the RV to the dealer.

I wrote a long post explaining why but I guess it was deleted.

Really wishing I kept my 2001 RV and remodeled it
