Beach Front

Any place similiar to Apache (Myrtle Beach) more north like in virginia or North Carolina? We like the beach camping but Myrtle beach is big drive. We are looking for someplace more north. Any Idea's or experiences similiar to apache?

There is a campground in Ocean City Maryland. Its called Castaways. Link http://castawaysrvoc.com/
Expensive. It is on the bay side of Assateague Island.

Very nice, water on bay side is warmer than ocean. 15 minutes up to Ocean City boardwalk. If you have a pet it has a Bark Park and Bark Beach.

Camp hatteras in Rodanthe NC.... there is also Rodanthe KOA. I haven't stayed at either but they both get good reviews.

SeaMist Camping Resort, located in Shallotte, NC offers beachfront camping. I believe they have a pool and other activities and part of what they offer is their own private beach. If you are after beach camping, and wish to stay in or around the Myrtle Beach area, which is only about 30 minutes away, this may be the place you are looking for.

Also saw some information on First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. Never stayed here but they say they have some oceanfront sites and it is well preserved and off any major highways or roads. Might be worth checking out if you wish to stay farther north. Hope this helps!

I would also throw a recommendation for First Landing in VaBch. Been there and love the locale, on the Bay side with the Bay Bridge/Tunnel in the background. 10 mins to the boardwalk and all the stuff at VaBch. If you go YOU HAVE TO SEE A NORFOLK TIDES BBALL GAME! One of the best things, next to the light rail, sun behind you at night games, reasonable price. One of the things I miss most since moving to NOVA.

We stayed at camp hatteras and we loved it, a lot to do, one day to the south, lighthouse, ferry, dinner on Ocracoke, then another day to Jockeys ridge, Wright bros. museum, and you MUST take the time to go to Corova to see the wild horses, you won't regret it!
