Update,
We had a very good trip, 2500 miles with no problems what so ever. I am really glad a spent the time to prep the RV and check all the things I could forsee going wrong.
We ended up staying at the KOA in Fort Collins for a night. Holy cow what a KOA that is. Very large with a lot of stuff to do. Very nice staff as most KOA's seem to have. Everything we needed and then some for an overnight.
Then we went to Estes Park Colorado and checked into the Jellystone Park. We had very low expectations but were surprised on how nice a stay we had. But we were there during a very slow period of time so it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. We ended up with a great camp site. Very high on the hill with a view of the Rockies out our door. The place had a nice, small saltwater pool the the kids loved. As well as a small game room. They were not running any of their programs and dinners, breakfasts etc during the week we were there due to the slowness. Weekends I guess they were still doing those things. I recommend the campgrounds, especially if is is a quiet time of the year.
Next we ran down HWY 36 I believe, through Lions, Boulder, Denver, and ended up in Colorado Springs. Booked into the KOA. This place served its purpose of a base camp. But it was awful hot, dry, and dusty for the three nights we were there. The staff was very helpfull and bumped us up to a site with a concrete pad, glass dining table with chairs and a tree!. The hookups were nice but like most places the cable sucked...BUT, the over the air antenna worked very well and brought in about 10 stations. Like all KOA's they had a pool that could use a good cleaning but worked none-the-less. The KOA was next to the interstate so you could hear that if you were outside. As I said, this was a base camp for us as we explored Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, the Royal Gourge Train etc.....
So that was the trip.
