Hey All,

We live in Calgary, but would like to head south for a few days of camping near Glacier National Park in Montana. Something on the east side of the park is preferable (as close to the Coutts border crossing as possible). Any recommendations?

I've looked at the St. Mary's KOA, and the reviews on-line are marginal. Anyone been there?

Thanks.

Why don't you check out staying right in the park?? It sure gives the time at the camper a whole lot better atmosphere.
We looked at the east side KOA when we were out there, and it did not impress us. We have stayed at the one on the the west side. That one was fine, when we were there.

There is a Good Sam pk. on east side, and KOA, Good Sam doesn't have pool, but KOA does. We did the GSam park and was OK. Did a lot of hiking, and taking in the views, AWESOME Country JIM

We were there in 03 and stayed at Johnson's Campground at St Mary. It's slightly on a hill overlooking the valley and the most beautiful campground view we have ever stayed at !!!

Don't know if the place is still there. The folks running it were very old and such a joy to talk to.

Many Glacier campground gets you as close to where it's at. campground fill up pretty quick so it's advisable to get there early AM - first come first served. not too many sites will accommodate large rigs however. there's also Duck Lake campground - close by
