Extended stay in Colorado (Denver-ish)?

Hey Guys,

I may be relocating for work in the near future (Dec-Feb) and will find myself in the Denver (ish) area. I will need to find an RV park that is great for extended stay, especially during winter while we decide where to buy a house. I will live in my RV for 6-12 months.

Loveland, Fort Collins etc...are all in play. I just need access to the metro Denver area. I'd prefer NOT an inner city location.

I've reached out to Dakota Ridge and Flying Saucer. Any other thoughts or suggestions? Would love easy access to the mountains, trails, etc...

I have also spent some time surfing Google and the Good Sam RV site locator...but I just can't believe there are only two options...

Need large rig access.

Thanks in advance.

I believe my parents stayed at Dakota Ridge (would have to ask to be for sure) for about 6 or 8 months or a year (it's been quit awhile ago) while their condo was being built.

Keep in mind if you are in the Loveland area, winter will be cold. If you go that far north of Denver (Loveland) vs south, it will make a notable difference IMO. Ft Collins - Loveland is 25 minutes to Denver. Whats your goldilocks distance?

Another thought for you, out 70 or the area between Golden and Boulder. Closer to Denver and in the foothills. Would you consider Cherry Creek State Park? It might be expensive long term but it is inside the Denver Metro area.

Everywhere in the area of Denver will give you easy mountain access.

I am in sales and do not need to go into an office everyday. I will check out Cherry Creek State Park.

My Goldilocks distance is more of a time thing than mileage, which is about an hour.

Loveland to Downtown Denver in morning (early, around 5 am departure) puts you right at 45 minutes. If you are a 9-5 guy it will be a long ride in, easily at the hour plus mark. I do the drive daily from just South of Loveland, but I am the 5:00 guy driving in with minimal traffic.

Thanks for the insight. Good information!
