Not sure if this would be on your way, but we stayed at this KOAhttp://koa.com/campgrounds/kentucky-lakes/. We stayed here 3 nights and really liked it. Some of the camp spots were right next to the water.
Good luck on your trip and travel safe.

We stayed at the campground that is right next to Graceland for several nights last April. It was a nice, quiet campground, and you can walk to Graceland. Neither my wife or I are big Elvis fans, but we really enjoyed our visit to Graceland. Gave us a new image of Elvis. We felt since we were passing through anyway, and we are retired, why not. We got picked up in a pink Cadillac and driven to a local pulled pork restaurant, and returned right to our camper...no charge. And the pork was great!
There are several nice COE campgrounds around the Lakes. I would recommend one of those over the many private CG's in the area, althought there are some very nice ones they can get a little pricy. Hillmans Ferry is one COE campground in particular I can recommend---nice park, priced right, and lots of sites to chose from.
