Here is a resort campground. has everything, always clean. CLick the link , then Photo Gallery, and then The Grounds ... has a few photos.. When we stay we usually get to stay under a cover with a huge paved patio. Truly a resort.

Also like Sam Houston around Lake Charles. It is limited to where we can park
The Paragon Casino has a nice campground and inexpensive
The RedShoe Rv Park at Coushatta . I will get the links later and add if any one needs them

South Toledo Bend State Park is also very nice. All the State parks in Louisiana give you a lot of space. Mandeville and Madisonville on Lake Pontchartrain are great.

I stay at Sam Houston Jones SP every year on my way to Texas. A good stopping place. Usually stay at either Fairview-Riverside or Fontainebleau on the way back, but this year I stayed at Tickfaw. Very impressed with the Louisiana State Parks.

Palmetto Island State Park near Abbeville is very nice. We stayed there over the 4th of July and really enjoyed it! They have a "splash pad" for the kids but truth be told, we all had fun playing in the water. The park is only a handful of years old from what I understand. Nice sized sights, clean and free laundry! We had never seen free washers and dryers before!

Lonnie, you must of been lost lol. It is a nice park, it's the only state park that allows golf carts and there are plenty of room to ride. I was told they had overlaid the roads, we haven't been there since then it was really dusty before hope that helped it out.
Hope you had a good time in La. and ate plenty of seafood.

Ooooo, have been to CajunPalms twice and the golf cart parade is worth the visit...
I'd bet some of the Cajuns spent $30,000 on their wheels, tires, wraps, and stereo gear !!!!
It was full both times we went and CROWDED, but we had a 3 site triangular setup with a cover in between that was awesome for the 6 rv's that met there...

While there, all of us piled in one mh to drive down to look at Palmetto Island
(didn't realize how far out in the boonies it was !)
and, honestly, between 12 of us - ALL voted it the worst park they had ever seen...
we almost didn't drive through even ! but maybe they improved it since Feb.

Fairview IS nice - going meet the Red Stick crewthere forthe week of August 30th...

They are trying Indian Creek Recreation Area near Alexandria ?!?! heard it's nice !

I agree about Palmetto. The spots were small /short, and though I love trees, because of them really didn't have a whole lot of spots that we could have opened slides .. Have some friends that love it though
As far as state parks, I like Lake Fausse Point ... Still... Have to make sure we have a spot to get into . Cajun Palns does draw a crowd... Right about those Golf Carts too . We have one, though nice, not overly decked out, it takes us to the club house // swimming pool just fine though .

Also Indian Creek is very nice. We usually like to TRY to get spot on the first section . Larger spots than in the second section..... They didn't take reservations....so you almost need to go a day early to get a choice spot
