We are going to Colorado in a couple of weeks for a little vacation. We will be in the Denver "area" for about 3 days and want to do/see as much as possible. I already have reservations for the Pikes Peak Cog rail. I would like to drive across the Royal Gorge (without the camper of course)...do I have to buy an "activities pass" or something similar just to go across the bridge?Thats about all I have an interest in doing there (absolutely terrified of heights but some malfuntioning wiring in my brain housing group says I gotta do it anyway). I alsoplan on visiting the Denver Mint and the Christmas ribbon candy factory. Does the Air Force Academy have anything worth seeing? We are not interested in museums or historical sites and my wife's leg is gimped up so long walks are not an option so is there anything else in that area that would be interesting to see or do?

At Royal Gorge, just walk across the bridge, it isn't that long of a bridge. Also, take the elevator to the bottom. At Colorado Springs there is of course The Garden of the Gods, drive thru so no walking required. There was a laser light show around the Springs, but can't remember the name or if it is still there. And there are the old mining towns to drive and visit on the back side of the mtns. Probably more to do than you have time for.
