We have a group we like to camp with from the Baton Rouge area and looking for nice parks in Southeast Texas ...

They are going to Indian Creek this weekend and checking out Toledo Bend park,
what other parks might be nice somewhat between Red Stick and the DFW area ?

Most of thegirls like 'upscale' (i.e. high maintenance )

johnboytoo, why don't you consider joining us at the Texas Rally next 5/9-5/11 2014 at Kerrville. If you like "upscale" parksI think you would like this one.

Paragon Casino in Marksville, LA has a nice campground;Mill Creek Ranch RV Resort in Canton, TX (east of Dallas on I-20) is also very nice. If you are into flea markets, First Monday Trade Days is the biggest in Texas. Free shuttle from CG every 30 min.

johnboytoo, Toledo Bend South is real nice try for the sites along water that have decks. I hear north is also nice but I have never been there. Lake Claiborne north of Ruston is also good. I also heard good about Lake Bistineau but dusty. Twin Dykes North of Jasper TX on Sam Rayburn (only has a few 50 amp hookups). All of those are state parks. Coushatta Casino in Kinder (Red Shoe Park) is nice they have a dream pool with a wave pool with a swim up bar. you have use of a pool at rv park, wave pool at casino with shuttle there and back and also a indoor pool also at casino. We also like Indian Creek but there reservations only guaranty you a spot may not be the one you like. Hope this helps
