Another thumbs up for Cherry Hill. It is a fantastic campground. Two large pools, large laundromat, restaurant, store, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and the best part they have a DC Metro bus stop IN the campground. The bus will take you to a Metro rail station and you can ride the Metro right into DC. Very easy and clean system.
If you choose to ride the Metro get yourself a SmartTrip card. This is arechargeable RFID card you just tap on readers on the bus or train. No cash or tokens needed:

You can order these online for $30 a piece and they come with $25 fare ($5 for the card). Or you can purchase at kiosks at the rail stations.
The Metro bus stop in the campground takes you to the College Park rail station. The bus ride from the campground to that station is about 20 minutes. Another option is to drive to the Greenbelt station which is only a few minutes from the campground and hop on the train from there. You do have to pay to park and deal with a few miles of Beltway h*ll though. We took the bus each day to College Park.
Only downside to Cherry Hill...they are on the intersection of I95 and 495. These two roads are VERY busy and the road noise is quite evident throughout the campground.
Other than that, they scored an A+ from us.
