When I was younger there was a thing called COMMON COURTESY on the road...That in a lot of cases seems to have been replaced with, get out of my way, me first, get off of my road, I'm going to pass you only to get off at the exit as soon as I get around you, your going too slow so I'm going to pass on the right instead of letting you move to the right lane(your point)...So many more...SAD...

When we were young in PA we had State trooper asking question and giving driving test. They no longer do this in PA. I took my daughter for her test 10 years ago and they had a little old lady there. My daughter wasn't ready but we went anyhow. They did the 3 point turn and she scraped the brand new tires on the curb. after 4 tries zI finally had enough and walked over to tell this lady that she failed please get out of my car before I have to get new tires again. Anyhow my daughter passed the next week with her aunt and the same lady just wanted to know if I was around LOL. 10 years later she still isn't ready. After 29 years in the Sheriff Office (part Time job) I see alot of kids not ready.

Unless you tow a trailer the average driver has no idea what we face and have to deal with from idiots. I make it a point to watch for and help RV'ers that get stuck or need 'help' when on the Interstate.

Pulling a trailer, riding a bike, or just driving your car. Idiots are everywhere. Drive defensively!

Yeah my heart started racing just reading your story. Glad all are safe.

Also glad (well sad really) to hear we are not the only ones that get worked up about other drivers on the road. I can see the problems coming a mile away when just driving around town with nothing in tow. We started our first trip with the new rig last Friday evening and someone almost merged into the side of our truck. My husband slowed down more than he should have had to so they could get on the highway, they obviously weren't going to brake to get behind us and didn't have the power in their vehicle to speed up and get in front. And end of work week traffic forced us to stay in our lane.

The sign says "yield" folks, that means slow down and pull in behind us if necessary. How they missed a Ram 2500 with a 30ft trailer already on the highway, I'll never know.

I don't think they teach YIELD in drivers ed anymore. YIELD to many means stomp the gas and go like hell.
