Microsoft Streets and Trips

Fellow Crossroaders,

Have any of you used this software for trip planning? It appears to be a pretty good trip planner. It says that it can be downloaded to your Smartphone or used on your tablet/laptop while travelling. Also, it looks like it is more personalized than other on-line apps.

Thanks.

We are using RVParky.com to plan our trip this summer. It is easy to use and I think is downloadable to smart phones. It gives mileage between stops and list all the campgrounds, public and private near the city you list as the stop. We've found it very helpful.

I have been using Street & Trips for the last 5 years to plan my summer RV trips.
It has pushpins like : C.G,Waterfalls,Rest Areas,State Parks,Banks,Hospitals and many more, when you click on a pushpin it will show on the map including coordinates.
The S.W show distances from point to point and draw a map of your travels.
I love it.

I have used Microsoft Streets and Trips for years to plan our vacations. You can program in how long you want to drive each day, it will tell you when you need to stop. Then I use the program to find nearby places to camp. They have a very extensive database showing campgrounds, restaurants, landmarks, train & bus stops, etc; The great thing is it is loaded on my laptop, and even if we have no internet available, it still works. You can download your trip plans to your GPS unit as well, although I have never tried to do that.

Good Sam also has a trip planner that will give you any cautions or low bridge warnings for planning your next RV trip if you are a Good Sam member

I was playing on the Good Sam Trip Planner the other day. It was pretty cool I thought. All campgrounds along route, POI, warnings, avg national gas price, enter you mileage and even estimates your fuel cost. I think they even offer a smart phone app.

We just discovered the good sam planning guide and funny thing is,
have been members for years ! just never looked...

One thing to note is that it only highlights Good Sam parks - but of course it does DOOH !

It is a good resource, but we also use good old google maps for planning, mileage, searching nearby, etc...

It does Good Sam, as well as Private, and State Parks etc. You can choose any one or all three.
