@wildwildwest,as a fellow Canadian just a thought your way.I was talking to my insurance agent one day and was talking about doing this trip to AK he told me most Canadian companies don't cover our units on this trip only 48 continental US states and Canadian provinces.I can buy extra coverage just for the trip, maybe you could check or have before you leave Canadian territory.Have a great trip can't wait to see and hear more of your trip.

Good news is with SGI (our provincial government owned insurer) we are covered anywhere in North America and that includes our comprehensive additional insurance coverage we have (Canada, USA and Mexico). We cover a lot of distance when we travel, so we checked into this when we bought it.

Short trip to Mile 300 from Dawson Creek to Fort Nelson, BC. Good two lane highway all the way. Arrived early and did some sightseeing! Off to Watson Lake, Yukon Territory tomorrow. Staying at Triple G Hideaway campground tonight. They burst a water pipe two stalls over and had to turn off water for 1/3 of the park including us. Flooded one camp site. Lady running the place called someone to fix it and told us we may need to move (10 minutes after I got all set up). I wandered over to look at it, grabbed my tools and fixed it in five minutes. She was so happy she bought us all supper at the saloon - they have their own professional chef on site and we had a fabulous beef stir fry for supper! On the house! ($60 value), campsite only cost us $40. Great deal! Apparently the call out fee for her repair guy was well over twice that! Great day!

Nice restaurant (saloon) at the campground - a break from BBQ and on the house (see previous post) at Triple G Hideaway in Fort Nelson, BC. (Bar stools are all saddles!)

Beautiful drive from Fort Nelson, BC to Nugget City, Yukon (near Watson Lake). Good highway other than a few construction zones.

This was taken at Muncho Lake about half way (after the most winding portion of our journey so far)!

That was you? I did and it worked great initially, but I now have to pull the underside and drop the fresh water tank because the pickup in the tank is either plugged or disconnected. So I booked only full service campgrounds on this trip becayse we have no on board water supply until I get back home. I didn't have time to drop it before we left. Easy fix. Lol.

Update on highway: Alaska Highway from Watson Lake to Whitehorse, YT is good. Not so good from Whitehorse to Haines Junction, YT. Speed at or below 55 mph for that section. Expect to be running slower until we get into Alaska.

First stop in Alaska at Tok RV Village. Highway from Haines Junction, Yukon to US Border is very rough. Average speed 35 to 40mph. Border to Tok, Alaska highways quite good - average speed of 50 to 55mph. Nice campground in Tok, but should have taken a water power only instead of full service. Too tight to open the awning and pouring rain when we stopped. Too short to unhook for just one night so I just aired down the bags and leveled it. Off to Fairbanks in the AM.

Through Kluane Lake just west of Haines Junction this morning. Bad angle but this lake is massive.
