Ohio to Glacier National Park

My family and I are leaving this Friday for Glacier. I visited the park when I was in high school but my wife and kids have never been to the Rockies. We're really looking forward to the trip!

This will be the longest tow I've done as well as the longest stay in our camper. Up to this point, 3 nights has been our longest stay in the camper. This trip will be a total of 17 nights!

I'd love to hear from anyone who has camped there... Thoughts... Warnings... Words of wisdom...?

The last time we were there was in 2008. We were there a few times before. We always stayed outside the park. I think on the west side. Wish now I had investigated the campgrounds in the park a little more.

It's an awesome place. In my opinion, the Crown Jewel.
My advise would be to take your time going thru. Don't let the clowns that get right on your tail, rattle you into hurrying. I could never figure out why some people drive so far to see that place, then have to go so fast when they get there that they miss half of it. Go thru the park from both directions. You will see things going back that you missed the first time.

I would love to hear about your trip. I am trying to plan a trip from Nashville TN to Glacier National Park late this summer. Like to know any high and low points and how the long trip went.

Went to Glacier this past summer on the way to yukon and alaska. Left Windsor/Detroit thru Chicago to Fargo . then stopped at Theodore Roosevelt park which is the north badlands. then on past the large dam, forget the name, to the park took about 5 days to get there and stayed at a camp just inside the park. you can only drive in so far with a trailer or camper and you can take a free bus that runs all day. The scenery was great. There is also horse back riding just north of main road. And the Canadian side is also very scenic. One pass works for both sections

It was a rainy few days at Algonquin Prov park...tarps kept us dry.

We Stayed in the little town near the entrance. Beautiful park and great scenery. Lot of road construction in the park when we went a couple of years ago. The one thing we did notice was the campgrounds fill up quick after school is out. Make sure you plan ahead and make reservations. We could always find a place but had to jump around a little. We had our Passports and ended up going into Canada, eventually to Banff. We came from Florida and fuel was high, figured since we were already out there, we drove to Seattle also. We had 6 weeks to play with.

I was there once and there were multiple mountains worth watching. We taken the trip from Seattle taken the North road and reached the park in 3 days. There was a tip at the top, where I spent 3 hours and just keep on watching (Loved the scene). There were some animals, most of them were charming beauty.
