Hi. We usually drive straight through to florida when we go. Well we have an unplanned trip to in the next week or two to the beach & just wondering if any one has something "different" to stop & visit for a few hours to break the trip up for the kids. They'll be ages 6 to 13.

Kings Dominian theme park....right off RTE 95, about 20 miles north of Richmond VA.

there is a campground there with shuttle service to the park.

Google it for more information.

Have a safe, terrific deserve it.

When traveling south we have stayed in Selma, NC at RVacation CG. Not a bad place for a overnight. Outlets shopping close by for DW and kids.

Have a great trip.

Tami, Steve and I just came back from a trip to Florida. We stopped at Natural Bridge VA. You can visit the bridge and caves around it. We thought the park service owned it but they don't. it cost adults $16 to get in didn't pay attention to the kids prices. You can only walk a trail to see the bridge and if you pay extra go in caves. Don't know if the kids would like it, but they have a Zoo not far from the bridge. The kids can hold baby tigers and ride an elephant and feed other animals. They also have a drive thro Safari near the Zoo. My daughter and her family liked both of those. They are close to the Interstate. There is a KOA and Jellystone campground there also. Have a great trip!!
