We will be attending a dog show in Fletcher, North Carolina in September. After the show we will have one week to get to Bennington, Oklahoma for a music festival. Since that trip should only take two days, we will have several days to relax and play tourist. Any suggestions as to things to do/see? Fletcher is on the western end of NC and Bennington is about 80 miles west of the eastern border of Oklahoma, near the border with Texas.

Thanks,

How are the roads through the Smokey Mountains National Park? Any problem for a Dodge 3500 and a 30' Crossroads 5er? Any good places to stay within the park?

Thanks,

the main road thru the smokey mtn natl park is us hwy 441 and is traveled regularly by semi's,and travels from cherrokee,nc to gatlinburg,tn (both tourist area's),the other major road goes from us441 over to cades cove area and townsend,tn and you can get there ok,the only problems will be going up to clingmans dome(highest accessable pt in pk) and back to the historic section of cades cove,(both need to see)you will leave your rig in parking down from them or better yet in a camp ground. we like to stay in townsend tn at one of the riverfront sites in the KOA (pricey) or their are some cheaper sites at (ye ?)old mill campground just down the road,or you can rough it and try a site in the park

hope this helps

Country Woods RV Park; Franklin, NC. Near Cherokee, stayed there couple years ago, nice place nice people, a little tight for bigger rigs, had a 32' motor home with toad and saw bigger 5ers there also. Don't know if it's on your way, maybe a possibility...

I Forgot,in smokey mth natl pk the 2 larger campgrounds are smokemont and cades cove i think you can make resv online, cades cove is always full there are others such as deep creek that almost always have sites,if you go to bryson city,nc (where deep creek is)you might like the great smokey mountain rail road,an old train ride thru the mtns, also on deep creek rd there is deep creek tube center and campground 828-488-6055 they have some pull thru full hookup sites

have fun

now at country woods in franklin ncEdited by: joescuba
